A Success Story in Caregiving with Crystal Care

Updated: Nov 25

International Students’ Day, celebrated annually on November 17th, is a day to acknowledge the contributions, challenges, and achievements of students around the world. For Crystal Care, this day offers a special opportunity to reflect on the many international caregivers who have joined our team through sponsorship programs.

Many of these talented individuals have pursued their dreams of living and working in the UK, helping people in need while building meaningful, rewarding careers in the care sector.

Sponsoring International Carers

At Crystal Care, we believe that fostering a diverse, skilled, and compassionate workforce is essential to delivering high-quality home care services.

We actively support international candidates who are passionate about caregiving through a sponsorship program – a pathway to success.

By offering opportunities to qualified individuals from across the world, we not only address the growing demand for care services in the UK, but we also give international caregivers a chance to build fulfilling careers.

Meet Musa: A Case Study in Success

To celebrate International Students’ Day, we’re proud to share Musa’s story.

Musa had come from Nigeria to complete his master’s degree and find himself a role in healthcare in which he feels secure. He already had experience working in care prior to joining us, with knowledge gained from his voluntary work in Nigeria and his education gained over the years.

By doing his research on the possible companies in the area, Musa decided to pursue a career with us after looking into what we provide not only for him as a career but also what we do for our clients.

“The reason I moved was to fill my determination of completing my master’s degree and pursuing a solid career in health care as I’ve had a passion for working in care as a way of returning the same compassion given to my family during harder times we faced. It had inspired me to take this route and look into working in health and care,” Musa says.

The Sponsorship Process

The journey from being an international applicant to becoming a full-fledged Crystal Care carer involves a detailed and transparent process. This ensures that we only recruit the most capable and passionate individuals, giving them the best chance of success in their roles.

After Musa submitted an application, we reviewed qualifications and work experience. Following a successful interview, Musa was offered sponsorship. The sponsorship program is designed to assistinternational caregivers with the legal and administrative processes involved in relocating to the UK. This includes obtaining the appropriate documentation, securing a suitable placement, and providing training if needed.

At Crystal Care, we take pride in supporting our international carers by offering training programs that ensure each caregiver is fully prepared to meet the demands of working in the UK care sector. Musa completed the Crystal Care training with enthusiasm, feeling ready to start a new career.

Settling into Life with Crystal Care

The application process for joining Crystal Care was impressively smooth and quick, exceeding Musa’s expectations. What initially seemed like a months-long journey was completed in just a few weeks.

Starting in a versatile role, Musa gained experience across a wide range of duties, including work at day centres, providing direct support, cleaning, home care, and domiciliary services.

Now, he primarily works as a home care domiciliary worker, though his diverse skill set allows us to utilise him in multiple areas, adapting to various caregiving needs as they arise.

“During my experience at Crystal Care I have found that the office is always considerate for my wellbeing. From experience, other places that I have worked would try to push as much work as possible on me, Crystal Care make sure that I’m ok with the work that is given to me.

I enjoy working with the clients I am put onto, seeing them feels more like I am working with a friend due to my good working relationships with the people that I go out to help each day. With one of the clients that I assist, we go out to visit places across the country.

Recently, I travelled to Wigan to accompany the client for an awards ceremony. I enjoy the opportunities this job role gives me, such as visiting new places and helping the clients to achieve things they otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to do by themselves.

The company schedules work very suitably for me, allowing me to establish a concise working pattern that helps me manage my time in and out of work. It also allows me to spend time with my children and family.”

The Impact of International Carers at Crystal Care

Musa is just one example of how international caregivers are making a meaningful impact through Crystal Care. By offering skilled carers the chance to live and work in the UK, we can continue providing high-quality home care services to those in need. International carers bring with them unique perspectives, diverse experiences, and an unwavering commitment to care.

On this International Students’ Day, we celebrate the achievements of our international carers and the contributions they make to the lives of our clients.

We are proud to support their journeys through sponsorship and look forward to continuing to expand our global caregiving team.
